Privacy Policy
Matt Kosterman Productions (“MKP”) is a Chicago-based photography studio. This page explains what information mattkosterman.com collects, why, and what MKP does with it.
Information you send
When you fill out one of the site’s forms (the contact form, the Connect form, an On the Road session inquiry, a Personal Sessions inquiry, or a question before your session), MKP receives what you enter: your name, email address and message, plus your company and phone number if you choose to include them. This information is used only to reply to you and to arrange a session.
Inquiries are stored in the site’s own records and sent to MKP by email.
A podcast guest profile, sent from the Guest Request page, includes what you choose to share: your name, title, email address, website, bio, social media accounts, headshot, suggested interview questions and publicist’s contact details. It’s stored in the site’s own records, sent to MKP by email, and added to MKP’s podcast records, which are kept in Airtable. It’s used to consider and prepare your appearance on The Permission Slip, and parts of it may appear in the episode’s description on this site and on Fireside, the podcast’s host.
Mailing lists
MKP sends three kinds of email: the Photography Newsletter, On the Road Announcements, and the Podcast & Consciousness Newsletter. If you tick the box to subscribe on the contact or Connect form, or to join the mailing list on an On the Road inquiry, MKP adds your name and email address (and your phone number, if you gave it) to its mailing list, which is kept in Mailchimp, along with the lists you chose and which form you used. If you were on MKP’s earlier mailing lists, your details were carried over to the same place.
Every email has a link to change which lists you receive or to unsubscribe from all of them. Mailchimp records whether emails are opened and which links are clicked; MKP uses this only to see what readers find useful.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are located (city or region, not street address), and what kind of device and browser they use. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this, and it doesn’t identify you by name. MKP uses this information only to improve the site. To opt out, you can use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on or block cookies in your browser settings.
Podcast audio
Episodes and cover art for The Permission Slip are hosted by Fireside. When you play an episode, your browser loads it directly from Fireside, which may log that request.
Links to other sites
The site links to Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, podcast apps, and podcast guests’ own websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave mattkosterman.com.
What MKP doesn’t do
MKP doesn’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and doesn’t share it with anyone except the services named above, which are used to run the business.
How long it’s kept
Inquiries are kept as long as they’re useful for working with you, and are deleted on request. Guest profiles are kept as part of the podcast’s records and are deleted on request. You stay on a mailing list until you unsubscribe or change your choices.

To see, correct, or delete the information MKP holds about you, email info@mattkosterman.com.
Children
The site isn’t directed at children under 13, and MKP doesn’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
