LIGHT CUBE

Johnny first introduced Matt to the Light Cube concept with his 6-foot cube version. Inspired by the work of Irving Penn "Worlds in a Small Room" and Peter Lindbergh (especially the Omega Watch shoot with Cindy Crawford and her family), the Light Cube consists of 12 square pieces of aluminum tube—eight corners to hold them together and a variety of fabric to modify the light. The Cube is typically created outdoors and becomes effectively a small north-light studio (north light being soft and pleasing). Many different looks can be achieved simply by changing the fabric.

Matt has created Light Cubes for headshots, model portraits, graduation parties and even reproduced the "Lindbergh look" at special functions for the Omega store on Michigan Avenue.
