LIGHT CUBE

LIGHT CUBE

Johnny first introduced Matt to the Light Cube concept with his 6-foot cube version. Inspired by the work of Irving Penn "Worlds in a Small Room" and Peter Lindbergh (especially the Omega Watch shoot with Cindy Crawford and her family), the Light Cube consists of 12 square pieces of aluminum tube—eight corners to hold them together and a variety of fabric to modify the light. The Cube is typically created outdoors and becomes effectively a small north-light studio (north light being soft and pleasing). Many different looks can be achieved simply by changing the fabric.

Matt has created Light Cubes for headshots, model portraits, graduation parties and even reproduced the "Lindbergh look" at special functions for the Omega store on Michigan Avenue.

HEADSHOTS

HEADSHOTS

It was Matt's friend Lori Gery, a marketing executive, whose prescient suggestion that he address emerging need for high quality headshots for use on social media back in 2011, lead to his focus on this market niche.
Headshots were traditionally the province of actors and models. Typically they are photos of the head and shoulders. The challenge, especially for a business use, is to connect and capture the essence of the person while also projecting the desired persona - powerful, approachable, knowledgeable.

CORPORATE LIFESTYLE

CORPORATE LIFESTYLE

Also known as "Custom Stock Photography," Corporate Lifestyle imagery inspires a more complete look at a company's people and culture. Matt often captures these shots in conjunction with B-roll for future video use. At the end of a shoot, you will leave with a high-quality, rights-cleared gallery of your employees in your space—with everything from detail work to wide panoramas of team member collaboration.

EVENTS

EVENTS

From conferences and company parties to races and ribbon-cuttings, events demand comprehensive and compelling photo and video coverage. These photos are perfect for internal use and employee morale as well as to share with event attendees and on social media.

ADVERTORIAL

ADVERTORIAL

The paid "advertorial" exists in the content space between advertising and earned media coverage—and often requires specialized imagery. Advertorial Photography includes traditionally posed and product shots—that lean just a bit more toward the candid and informal.

EXECUTIVE PORTRAITS

EXECUTIVE PORTRAITS

Expanding on the concept of a Headshot, an Executive Portrait is generally a wider angle shot of a person, shown in an environment befitting their position. More time and planning is taken to ensure high quality, accurate representation of the concept. We are including Group Portraits in this category as well.

PERFORMANCE

PERFORMANCE

Shooting live performances is a treat. For almost ten years, Matt has been photographing the annual benefits for Oak Park’s Beyond Hunger, featuring stars such as The Indigo Girls, John Hiatt and St. Paul and the Broken Bones. He’s unique framing, coupled with precise timing, produce some very compelling, emotion-filled images.
