Who
Stel Valavanis is a seasoned entrepreneur and cybersecurity expert. At the time of their meeting, he was Founder & CEO of onShore Security. With a strong foundation in physics and applied mathematics from the University of Chicago, Stel has built a career focused on product strategy and development in the cybersecurity domain. His leadership experience spans over two decades, highlighted by founding onShore Networks and successfully navigating its acquisition by CyberMaxx.
Goal
Stel was seeking to buttress his already solid reputation and image of a leader in the cybersecurity space when he engaged Matt to create a library of executive branding images to use in social media and on his company's website.
Outcome
More than a dozen images of Stel, taken in his offices, along the riverfront in Chicago and inside one of his data centers, portray him as a friendly & approachable, yet serious IT executive.

When Stel first contacted Matt, they had an in-depth discussion about his intentions and desires for the outcome of the photo shoot. They chatted about the wheres and whens and, more importantly – about Stel's vision for his images.

They settled on the On Shore offices on Chicago Avenue, a couple downtown locations and a data center within a Chicago office building.

Over the course of the day Matt's team worked quickly to create a diverse set of looks for Stel by changing up lighting, location and wardrobe. This enabled the creation of a library of images for different applications as well as the perception that the images were captured over the course of months or years.
